Materials We Use

Pressure Treated Lumber

Pressure treated wood (aka PT) is Southern Yellow Pine (abbreviation ‘SYP’) that has been chemically treated to increase rot resistance and prevent damage from insects. It is one of the most common materials for decking. In comparison to cedar, composite material and hardwood, PT is one of the most cost-effective option.
PT is Rot Resistant & Repels Insects: The chemicals used to create pressure treated lumber prevent rot resistant but they also act as an insecticide; so, with PT wood, you receive a 2-for-1 deal.

PT is cost-effective, rot resistant and repels Insects. it also can withstand weather and stand strong for more than 30 years if maintained regularly.

Western Red Cedar

Western Red Cedar is a real natural beauty. This cost-effective decking option is a natural choice for the most discerning of homeowners.

From golden honey to warm chestnut, Western Red Cedar’s stunning range of naturally occurring colors makes it a sought-after, sustainable option for pergolas, trellises and decks. There’s also no shortage of styles in terms of texture, including a knotty or clear wood in any grade, cut or size, along with a multitude of stain options to help maintain your deck for years to come.

Western Red Cedar also has long lifespan and it is dimensionally stable.

Composite / PVC

Composite decking is manufactured by combining wood waste, such as sawdust and smaller wood dust fibers, with polyethylene plastic. The material is often recycled from plastic bottles and milk jugs. The combination is heated and extruded into standard 1- and 2-inch by 6-inch decking boards, which are often stamped with a wood grain pattern to resemble real wood.

There are many color options to match your taste. Composite decking is designed for maximum durability. It resists fading, staining, scratching and mold, and won’t rot, crack or warp. It’s also insect-proof and splinter-free, making it safer and more comfortable for families with kids and pets.

IPE

Ipe (pronounced EE-pay) is a Brazilian hardwood. It is world-renowned for its superior characteristics and properties. Ipe is one of the hardest woods in the world which leads to its incredible durability and longevity. It is also naturally resistant to insect attack, mold, rot, fire and decay.

Ipe decking is incredibly versatile. Its durability makes it a natural choice for commercial projects, such as high-traffic, large-scale beach piers or boardwalks, or even public benches. However, its beauty, strength and low needs for maintenance also make it a leading option for residential decking.

It is all natural, one of the hardest woods in the world, long lasting, insect resistant, fire resistant.
